Introduction

GULF SQAS (Sustainability & Quality Assessment System) is a system to evaluate the environmental, health, safety, security and quality performance of logistics service providers (LSPs) in a uniform manner by single standardized assessments carried out by independent assessors using a standard questionnaire. A GULF SQAS assessment does not lead to a certificate but offers a detailed factual report which each chemical company needs to evaluate according to its own requirements.

Incorporating feedback from the main European SQAS questionnaire, Manufacturing companies, Logistics Service Providers and Certification Bodies, these improvements ensure better alignment with regional industrial requirements while strengthening compliance, safety, and operational performance in the Gulf's petrochemical sector. This change is aimed at encouraging LSPs to pro-actively and transparently work on identified assessment gaps, thus following the principles of Responsible Care, to drive continuous improvement in environment, health, safety, security and quality performance.
