The G-SQAS Questionnaire has been enhanced to strengthen evaluation across Management Systems, Transport, Warehousing, and Tank Cleaning. By integrating regional needs and global best practices, it ensures improved safety, compliance, and operational excellence throughout the Gulf's petrochemical logistics sector.
System to evaluate the quality, safety, security and environmental performance of logistics service providers in a uniform manner by single standardized assessments carried out by independent assessors using a standard questionnaire.
As GPCA continues to promote best environmental practices, safe working conditions and enhance sustainability within the GCC polymer supply chains, we’re proud to steward Operation Clean Sweep.
GULF SQAS assessment does not lead to a certificate but offers a detailed factual report which each chemical company needs to evaluate according to its own requirements.

GULF SQAS (Sustainability & Quality Assessment System) is a system to evaluate the environmental, health, safety, security and quality performance of logistics service providers (LSPs) in a uniform manner by single standardized assessments carried out by independent assessors using a standard questionnaire. A GULF SQAS assessment does not lead to a certificate but offers a detailed factual report which each chemical company needs to evaluate according to its own requirements.
The Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA), centrally manages the system and ensures its integrity and success
Download the Pre-Assessment Document (PAD), the core and module questionnaires
The assessments are performed by professional assessors who are trained and accredited by GPCA
The assessment reports are stored in a central database, split per module
In order to ensure an ongoing sustainable operation of GULF SQAS
Any logistics company who considers to undertake an assessment

The Gulf SQAS (G-SQAS) Questionnaire has been updated and revised to enhance assessment criteria across Core (Management System), Transport Services, Warehouse Operations, and Tank Cleaning. Incorporating feedback from the main European SQAS questionnaire, Manufacturing companies, Logistics Service Providers and Certification Bodies, these improvements ensure better alignment with regional industrial requirements while strengthening compliance, safety, and operational performance in the Gulf's petrochemical sector. GPCA remains committed to fostering continuous improvement and upholding the highest industry standards across the chemical and petrochemical value chain.
The Gulf Sustainability and Quality Assessment System (Gulf SQAS) is a strategic initiative designed to assess the environmental, health, safety, security, and quality (EHSS&Q) performance of logistics service providers (LSPs) through a standardized, independent evaluation process. By ensuring a uniform and objective assessment framework, Gulf SQAS supports the continuous improvement of supply chain operations across the petrochemical and chemical industries
Please note the GULF SQAS Committee have implemented an additional requirement whereby assessed companies shall not be able to download the GULF SQAS attestation without prior submission of their improvement plan. This change is aimed at encouraging LSPs to pro-actively and transparently work on identified assessment gaps, thus following the principles of Responsible Care, to drive continuous improvement in environment, health, safety, security and quality performance.
GPCA extends a very warm welcome to its logistic service provider members on completing the responsible care program prerequisites and joining the responsible care family. The conditions in order to be recognized as a Responsible Care® company, are as follows:
